Anyone know? I pick off passes in the slot and such but nothing seems to be what they're getting at.
COMPLETION UPDATE! Finally completed it. Turned on the 'defensive positioning' on-ice trainer for about 10 games and was able to complete this task. Essentially what I think it's looking for is to you to disrupt slot passes and/or rebound attempts with body checks. (Note: this doesn't mean big hits; it can be simply enough contact to stop a player from gaining possesion.)

Clemson coach Brad Brownell frustrated Big 12 was able to 'manipulate' NET rankings

Brad Brownell called out Big 12 teams for manipulating the NET:
"Their nonconference scheduling, they’re playing 300 level teams and winning by 40-50 points to increase their efficiency numbers. ... Our league is actually 9-3 against the Big 12."

I don't know if the BIG12 is doing it in purpose, but there's definitely merit to the argument that beating down on sub-300 teams can inflate your analytics rankings more than beating a good opponent. For example, T-Rank assigns a game score that roughly correlates to how good your analytics rankings would be. A game score of 100 means you played like the best team in the country that day.
Well when San Diego State beat St Mary's by 25 on a neutral court, the game score for that game was 99. But beating Fresno St (sub 200 NET) by 32 on their court gave us a score of 100. And having watched both games, we didn't play particularly well at all. We could just drive to the basket at will and shoot a ton of open 3s because we just outmatched them.
I think everyone would agree that beating St Mary's by 25 is a lot harder task than beating Fresno by 32 (edit: fixed) but the latter happened a LOT on the non conference. There are tons of 100 game scores against sub-300 opponents and very few against elite opponents.
Net Rating By Quarter Over Erik Spoelstra's Career

There has been a lot of discourse over the past several years about Miami's breakdowns in the third quarter as a general trend. I wanted to investigate this a bit, so I compiled the net rating splits of each quarter across Spo's tenure as coach (shown in table). Overall I think there was a very consistent trend from the departure of the Big 3 era up until the start of the Butler era (no dominant star player era). From that point on, I think we are mostly talking about confirmation bias based on the previous trend (though third quarters have been super rough so far this year).
